Dan Hartmann has been named the new president and CEO of the Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundation. He rejoins staff following a decade of interfraternal and higher education leadership roles to lead a new era of fundraising and stewardship for Lambda Chi Alpha.
Hartmann will succeed Josh Lodolo and takes over for interim president and CEO, Mark Bauer. A higher education professional, Hartmann departs from a newly-created position at the Indiana University Foundation, Director of Development for IUPUI Campus-Wide Initiatives. He is accustomed to leading new teams, working strategically with non-profit boards, and collaborating with alumni, donors, and friends to improve fundraising results.
“I am excited to welcome Dan as the president and CEO of the Educational Foundation,” said Paul Troy, Chair of the Educational Foundation Board of Directors. “Dan’s passion and commitment to Lambda Chi Alpha runs deep. His experience in both higher education and the interfraternal world will be invaluable to both the Educational Foundation and the General Fraternity.
“As we embark upon the next phases of our transformation as an organization, Dan’s leadership will be crucial to our continued success.”
Prior to his role with the IU Foundation, Hartmann served as the first full-time director to lead the North-American Interfraternity Conference Foundation (NICF) in 2012. The NICF, now known as the Foundation for Fraternal Excellence, serves the fraternal movement by building the sophistication of fraternal fundraising professionals and volunteers.
Hartmann is looking forward to not only strengthening relationships between Foundation and Fraternity staff, but also reigniting the passion of Lambda Chi Alpha members across the world.
“It is an honor to be selected by our brothers to lead the Foundation at this transformational time in our organization’s life,” said Hartmann. “I look forward to working with the Foundation Board, donors, alumni, and friends to grow our impact in support of the Fraternity’s vision and mission.”
In a variety of capacities, he has long been involved with the mission and vision of the fraternity, from volunteering as a Stead Leadership Seminar facilitator to supporting the fraternity throughout the years.
“Dan exemplifies what is means to be a Lambda Chi and he lives our values,” said Jeff Stuerman, Grand High Alpha and member of the Foundation Board. “He is an accomplished fundraiser and it is exciting to have him join our Educational Foundation.
“I look forward to working with him as he leads the Foundation to new heights, allowing Lambda Chi Alpha to meet the educational and leadership development needs of our brothers.”
The Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundation was established in 1946 through a bequest from Dr. John E. Mason Jr. (Pennsylvania 1913), the spiritual founder of Lambda Chi Alpha. The mission of the Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundation is to fund, develop and support values-based educational programs and activities which will inspire a lifetime of personal growth, leadership, service, and deep fraternal relationships. The Foundation does so through providing scholarships, financial support for leadership conferences such as the Stead Leadership Seminar and the High Alpha Summit; alumni volunteer training through the Neville Advisor’s College; academic programs; alcohol, drug, and social education; and professional development and career services.
