Frequently Asked Questions
The High Alpha Summit & Neville Advisor’s College is a three-day gathering of Chapter and Associate Chapter presidents and advisors within Lambda Chi Alpha. You should plan to arrive on January 3, 2025 by 2 pm EDT and stay through January 5, 2025, which is your travel day, so you do not miss any programming. Participants will learn the fundamentals of being the Chief Executive Officer and Advisor for their respective Chapters or Associate Chapters. Training will emphasize leadership, ethics, operations management, external relations, and risk management.
All Chapter and Associate Chapter Presidents and Volunteer Advisors who are (or will be) in office as of January 1, 2025, are invited to the conference. They must be able to attend the entire conference and be willing to learn and grow as a leader. If a High Alpha cannot attend, a proxy may attend in their place.
The conference features various presentations from speakers from the Grand High Zeta, Office of Administration, Lambda Chi Alpha’s premiere partners, and Alumni from the corporate world. Participants will learn together in both large and small group sessions, which will allow for freedom of discussion and balanced participation from attendees. The bonding that occurs among small groups is a byproduct of learning, and many participants will stay connected beyond the conference.
Participants will take what they have learned throughout the first day with them into Saturday and apply it as they play The Chapter Challenge. The Challenge is a first-of-its-kind learning experience designed to simulate how to run a local Chapter. Participants will work together to apply their learning and improve operations at Psi-Psi Zeta.
The Summit will be held at the JW Marriott Indianapolis. Participants should plan to arrive no later than 2 pm EDT on Friday, January 3, 2025, and plan to leave no earlier than Sunday AM on January 5, 2025.
General session and small group session attendance is business casual. The final banquet is business professional. For examples of what this is, click here.
Registration will go live on October 14, 2024 and will close October 28, 2024. Please be sure to arrive in time for programming, which begins at 2 pm EDT on January 3. There will be no formal programming on January 5, so you may leave at any time.

Your High Alpha Training Specialist is your first point of contact if you experience travel delays. Your Specialist has or will text and email you with their primary contact information. If you experience problems while traveling, please immediately give them a call. We will work with you to ensure your safe arrival. In anticipation of travel delays, you may want to keep all essentials (e.g., medications, toiletries, travel documents, etc.) in your carry-on, along with a couple snack bars. If you do not know who your Specialist is or are having difficulty contacting them, please reach out to Jacob Mueller, Manager-High Alpha Training Specialists at jmueller@lambdachi.org with your name and Chapter.
- Notify your High Alpha Training Specialist.
- Be prepared to multitask.
- Whether you are dealing with an agent in person or over the phone, how you approach things can make a difference. A positive and calm approach is key.
- First come, first served. Be attentive to flight status on the way to the airport. Tackling the problem in advance can make a difference, especially when multiple people from the same flight need accommodation. Downloading the apps for your airline can be helpful in watching this. Additionally, many airlines do text alerts if you sign up.
- Ask Airline personnel the reason for the delayed or canceled flight.
- Understanding the situation can you give context of what you can do in the situation based on airline terms & policy
- Call the Airline customer service or Reservations support (see chart below).
- Check the Airline app for alternative flights (view options while waiting in line, or when on hold)
- Option 1: check “change flight/alternative flights” under boarding pass page.
- Option 2: Look for flights to your destination in search page.
What to do if you cannot fly out until the next day and you are not in your home city?
- Notify your High Alpha Training Specialist.
- Ask the airline to cover a hotel room or give you a hotel voucher. They might do it; they might not. They are less likely to accommodate for weather-related delays than if the problem is a mechanical issue with the plane or staffing issues. Ask and advocate for yourself, but also be kind and gracious.
- What you might get depends on the airline itself and the specific circumstances on why a flight was canceled. It never hurts to ask.
- Remember that you are not in this alone. The Office of Administration team will help to take care of you.
- Avoid arriving late to the airport to prevent delayed baggage.
- Tip: Place checked bag tracking label on the back of printed boarding pass – Incase your phone dies, and you need to track bags.
- Keep your checked bag receipt/slip
